Day 1 :Arrive Guwahati – Shillong (about 110 kilometres / 3 hours)

You will be taken to the Shillong hotel upon arrival at Guwahati airport / train station. Visit Umium Lake on way. Shillong was the state of Meghalaya's first capital. The city, which is nestled among undulating pine-covered hills, enjoys a warmer temperature than tropical India. The city centre is 1496m above sea level and has a population of around 270,000 people. It is also known as the Scotland of the East due to its many waterfalls. The British heritage is still obvious in the population's architecture and dietary habits. The remainder of the day is free. Overnight in a Shillong hotel.

Dy 2 :Shillong - Cherrapunjee (about 60 kilometres / 2 hours)

Today, we drive to Cherrapunjee. Visit Shillong Peak and Elephant Falls on way. Cherrapunji in Meghalaya is one of the wettest places on Earth and the only location in India where it rains all year. Cherrapunjiis located in the East Khasi Hills, approximately 50 kilometres southwest of Shillong, the state capital. Cherrapunji, often spelled Sohra or Churra, translates as 'the orange land'. Cherrapunji's cliffs also provide breathtaking views over Bangladesh's plains. Later in the day, explore Seven Sister Falls, Nahkhalikai Falls, Mwasmai Cave, and the eco-park at Koh Ram Hoh. Overnight in Cherrapunjee. (B)

Day 3 :Cherrapunjee – Mwallynnong – Shillong (about 90 kilometres/3 hours)

Mawlynnong Hamlet, located in Meghalaya's East Khasi Hills and also known as 'God's own paradise,' was named the Cleanest village in Asia in 2003. The hamlet, which is well-known for its cleanliness, is around 90 kilometres from Shillong and is a community-based ecotourism venture. Later in the day, pay a visit to the Dawki border. Return to Shillong in the evening. Overnight in a Shillong hotel. (B)

Day 6 :Kaziranga – Guwahati (about 230 kilometres / 6 hours)

Although it is a somewhat featureless city — a prosaic jumble of glass and concrete for the most part – there are a few fascinating temples to visit. However, a stroll through its back lanes and ancient districts reveals an abundance of local flavour that survives among the suburban sprawl of ponds, palm trees, modest single-story traditional dwellings, and old colonial-era palaces. The remainder of the day is free. Overnight in a Guwahati hotel. (B)

Day 7 :Guwahati

Today, pay a visit to the Kamakhya temple, which is devoted to the goddess Kamakhya, a manifestation of Sati. Additionally, visit the Navagraha temple, the Umananda temple, the Balaji temple, and the state zoo. Overnight in a Guwahati hotel. (B)
