Upon arrival in Auckland, 'The City of Sails,' seat in coach clients will be welcomed and personally taken to their accommodation by our local agent. Clients who self-drive will pick up their rental car at the airport and drive to their hotel.
To reach Waitomo Glowworm Caves, go south over rolling green hills and rich pastureland. Take a guided tour of the strange and wondrous limestone formations, followed by a stunning boat ride beneath hundreds of shimmering glowworms. Continue to Matamata and have a guided tour of 'Middle Earth' at the Hobbiton Movie Set. Proceed to Rotorua. (B)
Te Puia Thermal Reserve is a must-see for its bubbling mudpools and roaring geysers. After that, stop by the Agrodome for a New Zealand agricultural display before heading to Rainbow Springs to observe New Zealand's trout, birds, and animals. This afternoon is free to explore other sights in Rotorua. Enjoy a genuine Maori Hangi (feast) and concert this evening. (A, B)
