This morning, journey across the beautiful Canterbury Plains to Lake Tekapo and the 'Church of the Good Shepherd,' before continuing to New Zealand's highest peak, Mt Cook. Today, take the southern arm of Lake Wakatipu to Lumsden, and then continue on to Lake Te Anau. To reach Milford Sound, enter the Eglinton Valley and go via the breath-taking man-made Homer Tunnel. Take a sail across this internationally renowned ford, which is dominated by Mitre Peak and the tumbling Bowen Falls. Retrace your steps back to Queenstown. Overnight in a Queenstown hotel. (L, B)
