Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu

You will be taken to your hotel in Kathmandu upon arrival at the Kathmandu airport. The remainder of the evening is free. Overnight in a Kathmandu hotel.

Day 2: Kathmandu-Chitwan National Park (about 159 kilometres/6 hours)

Today, make your way to Chitwan National Park. Once in Chitwan, settle into a hotel. The remainder of the day is free. Later in the evening, pay a visit to the Elephant Breeding Center and take in a Tharu cultural dance performance. Overnight at a Chitwan hotel. (B,L&D)

Day 3 : Chitwan National Park

This morning, go on an exhilarating safari into southern Nepal's forest, where we ride elephants in search of one-horned rhinos and a variety of other exotic species. Later the afternoon, you'll go on a canoe journey along the Rapti River. This is a fantastic chance for bird viewing, and you may even come across two uncommon crocodile species: the Marsh Mugger and the Gharial Crocodile. Overnight at a Chitwan hotel. (B,L&D)

Day 4 : Chitwan National Park - Pokhara (about 152 kilometres / 5 hours)

Today, make your way to Pokhara. En route, take a cable car ride to Manakamana Temple. Later, make your way to Pokhara. When you arrive in Pokhara, check into your accommodation. The remainder of the evening is free. Overnight in a Pokhara hotel. (B)

Day 5 : Pokhara

Today, early in the morning, visit Sarangkot viewpoint to see a magnificent sunrise across the Annapurna ranges and Fishtail Mountain. Later in the day, take a one-hour boat excursion on Phewa Lake. Later in the day, enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour of Pokhara, including visits to David's fall, Bindabashini temple, Seti Gorge, and the International Mountain Museum. The remainder of the afternoon is available for shopping (on your own). Overnight in a Pokhara hotel. (B)

Day 6: Pokhara to Kathmandu (about 203 kilometres / 5 hours and 30 minutes)

Continue to Kathmandu. Once in Kathmandu, check into a hotel. The remainder of the evening is free. Overnight in a Kathmandu hotel. (B)

Day 7 : Kathmandu

Today, take a guided tour to Pashupatinath, Boudha, and Swayambhunath, as well as a visit to the Sleeping Vishnu. Pashupatinath is the country's most famous Hindu temple, located on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River. On the Ghats, we witness Hindu holy men (sadhus) meditating, pilgrims bathing, and, on rare occasions, funeral pyres burning. Bodhnath Stupa, one of the world's largest Buddhist temples, where we may witness Buddhist monks praying in the monasteries that surround it. Swayambhunath Stupa: Perched atop a hill on the western rim of the Kathmandu Valley, the ancient Swayambhunath Stupa (dubbed the Monkey Temple by visitors) is Kathmandu's most prominent Buddhist temple. The drowsy, all-seeing Buddha eyes that peer out from the top have become synonymous with Nepal. Overnight in a Kathmandu hotel. (B)

Day 8: Depart Kathmandu

This morning, you'll be taken to Kathmandu airport in time to catch a flight home or to your next destination.(B)
