Today, take a guided tour to Pashupatinath, Boudha, and Swayambhunath, as well as a visit to the Sleeping Vishnu. Pashupatinath is the country's most famous Hindu temple, located on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River. On the Ghats, we witness Hindu holy men (sadhus) meditating, pilgrims bathing, and, on rare occasions, funeral pyres burning. Bodhnath Stupa, one of the world's largest Buddhist temples, where we may witness Buddhist monks praying in the monasteries that surround it. Swayambhunath Stupa: Perched atop a hill on the western rim of the Kathmandu Valley, the ancient Swayambhunath Stupa (dubbed the Monkey Temple by visitors) is Kathmandu's most prominent Buddhist temple. The drowsy, all-seeing Buddha eyes that peer out from the top have become synonymous with Nepal. Overnight in a Kathmandu hotel. (B)
