Day 1 :Arrive Guwahati – Shillong (about 110 kilometres / 3 hours)

You will be taken to Shillong from Guwahati airport / railway station. Visit Umiam lake en way. Shillong became the state of Meghalaya's first capital. The city, which is nestled among undulating pine-covered hills, enjoys a warmer temperature than tropical India. The city centre is 1496m above sea level and has a population of around 270,000 people. It is also known as the Scotland of the East due to its many waterfalls. Check into your hotel upon arrival. The remainder of the day is free. Overnight in a Shillong hotel.

Day 2 :Shillong – Cherrapunjee – Shillong (about 120 kilometres / 4 hours)

This morning, immediately following breakfast, drive to Cherrapunjee. Cherrapunjee in Meghalaya is one of the wettest places on Earth and the only location in India where it rains all year. Cherrapunjiis located in the East Khasi Hills, approximately 50 kilometres southwest of Shillong, the state capital. Cherrapunji, often spelled Sohra or Churra, translates as 'the orange land'. Cherrapunji'sclifs also provide breathtaking views over Bangladesh's lowlands. Later, see Seven Sister Falls, Nahkhalikai Falls, Mwasmai Cave, and the eco-park at Koh Ram Hoh. Return to Shillong by road. Overnight in a Shillong hotel. (B)

Day 3 :Shillong

Today, spend the entire day touring in Shillong. Shillong - Known as the 'Gleneagle of the East,' Shillong is located in the heart of a plateau ringed by Khasi hills. The lovely city is home to some wonderful tourist attractions. Ward's Lake, located within the city, is famous for short garden walks and boating. The Botanical Garden features a diverse array of indigenous and exotic species, as well as an unique orchid collection. Lady Hydari Garden is a Japanese-style manicured park brimming with roses and lovely flowers. The nearby mini-zoo is home to around 73 birds, 140 reptiles, and mammals. One of Asia's largest golf courses, the 18-hole course is set in a soaring valley filled with dense pine woods and rhododendron trees. Spend your evening on the magnificent arena! The State Museum provides a showcase for the people of Meghalaya's way of life and heritage. Shillong and its environs are peppered with magnificent waterfalls falling down deep valleys, creating hazy sparkles as they disturb the surrounding calm. Elephant Falls is a mountain watercourse that cascades down two sequential waterfalls located in fern-covered rock crevices. Shillong Peak provides an aerial perspective of the city and valley. Day 4 :Shillong – Mwallynnong – Shillong (about 90 kilometres / 5 hours)

After breakfast, depart Shillong in the direction of Myallynnong Village and Dawki (Indo- Bangladesh Border). Mawlynnong Hamlet, located in Meghalaya's East Khasi Hills and also known as 'God's own paradise,' was named the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. The hamlet, which is well-known for its cleanliness, is around 90 kilometres from Shillong and is a community-based ecotourism venture. The community has worked cooperatively to create a clean village atmosphere. The area boasts exquisite natural splendour, and a hike to the neighbouring village of Riwai's live root bridge is a must. Additionally, the settlement features a natural balancing rock, a remarkable natural phenomena in which a boulder balances on another rock. Additionally, pay a visit to the Dawki border. Return to Shillong in the evening. Overnight in a Shillong hotel.

Day 5 :Depart Shillong – Guwahati

This morning, you will be taken to Guwahati airport / railway station in order to catch a flight or train return to your home or next destination. (B)
