Upon arrival in Auckland, 'The City of Sails,' seat in coach clients will be welcomed and personally taken to their accommodation by our local agent. Clients who self-drive will pick up their rental car at the airport and drive to their hotel. Overnight in an Auckland hotel.

To reach Waitomo, go south through the rich Waikato area. Take a guided tour of the world-famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves, which includes an underground boat ride to witness the cavern's millions of light worms. Continue across the wooded Mamaku Ranges to Rotorua after completion. (B)

View fish and animals in Te Puia Thermal Reserve, Agrodome Farm Show, and Rainbow Springs. Rest of the day is free to explore the place on your own or relax. (B)

Morning is free to relax. This afternoon, depart for Napier and travel south via the Wairakei Geothermal district. Continue through Taupo and around a portion of Lake Taupo (New Zealand's largest lake), via rocky mountain ranges and well-cultivated farmland, until you reach Napier, a 'Art Deco' city. Overnight in a Napier hotel. (B)

Today is free to explore Napier at your leisure before taking an afternoon wine tour that will include visits to and tastings at three local vineyards. Overnight in a Napier hotel. (B)

Today, travel via the Manawatu Gorge and Takapau Plains to Palmerston North, home to New Zealand's only agricultural university. Continue south until you reach Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand. Overnight in a Wellington hotel. (B)

Today, take a morning tour of Wellington (seat in coach guests only). Take a domestic flight to Christchurch (airfare is NOT included). (B)
