Day 1 :Arrive Guwahati – Shillong (about 110 kilometres / 3 hours)

You will be taken to the Shillong hotel upon arrival at Guwahati airport / train station. Visit Umiam lake en way. Shillong became the state of Meghalaya's first capital. The city, which is nestled among undulating pine-covered hills, enjoys a warmer temperature than tropical India. The city centre is 1496m above sea level and has a population of around 270,000 people. It is also known as the Scotland of the East due to its many waterfalls. The remainder of the day is free. Overnight in a Shillong hotel.

Day 2 :Shillong - Cherrapunjee – Shillong (about 60 kilometres / 2 hours)

Today, following breakfast, go to Cherrapunjee. Cherrapunji in Meghalaya is one of the wettest places on Earth and the only location in India where it rains all year. Cherrapunjiis located in the East Khasi Hills, approximately 50 kilometres southwest of Shillong, the state capital. Cherrapunji, often spelled Sohra or Churra, translates as 'the orange land'. Cherrapunji'sclifs also provide breathtaking views over Bangladesh's lowlands. Later, see Seven Sister Falls, Nahkhalikai Falls, Mwasmai Cave, and the eco-park at Koh Ram Hoh. Revert to Shillong Visit Shillong Peak and Elephanta Falls on way. Overnight in a Shillong hotel. (B)

Day 3 :Shillong – Bhalukpong (about 310 kilometres / 7 hours)

Today, make your way to Bhalukpung. Bhalukpung is a tiny town in Arunachal Pradesh, India, located on the southern foothills of the Himalayas. Bhalukpung's primary tourist attractions are fishing and river rafting. Among Bhalukpung's tourist attractions are the Pakhui Game Sanctuary and the Tipi Orchidariaurm, which is home to over 2600 grown orchids representing 80 different kinds. Check into your hotel upon arrival. The remainder of the day is free. Overnight in a Bhalukpong hotel. (B)

Day 4: Bhalukpung – Dirang (about 160 kilometres / three hours and forty minutes)

After breakfast, visit the Tipi Orchidariurm in Bhalukpung before continuing on to Dirang. Dirang is a picture-perfect Tibetan – Monpa stone hamlet, with the exception of the major road. A high rocky slope rises above the lovely stone dwellings, crowned with the Old Dirangs Gompa and many walls. Overnight in a Dirang hotel. (B)

Day 5: Dirang – Tawang (about 150 kilometres / four hours)

Proceed to Tawang this morning. Along the way, take at the snowcapped Sella Pass at 14000 feet and the Jaswant Garh War Memorial. (According to legend, Jaswant (Mahavir Chakra Awardee (Posthumous) of the 4th Batallion Garhwal Rifes) fought a solitary battle against the invading Chinese during the 1962 war. His spirit is still said to guard the location). Tawang is located at an elevation of 3500 metres. The natural splendour and isolation of the Gudpi and Chong-Chugmi mountains, the Tawang Chu River, and the Tawang Valley are fascinating. The districts are populated by all Monpa tribes except Shyo village, which is inhabited by Tibetans. Overnight at the Twanag hotel. (B)

Day 6 : Twang

Today, take a tour of the 400-year-old (17th century) Tawang Monastery, the world's second biggest monastery after Tibet's Potala Palace. The structure is around 113 feet long by 80 feet broad and is home to priceless antiques, books, and manuscripts—both handwritten and printed. Later, visit Tawang War Memorial, a 40-foot-high multi-hued memorial with a stupa-style construction. This memorial, dedicated to the martyrs of the Sino-Indo War of 1962, is located among picturesque peaks that overlook the Tawang-Chu valley. Overnight in a Tawang hotel. (B)

Day 7: Tawang – Bomdila (about 180 kilometres/four hours)

Today, make your way to Bomdila. Bomdila is the district headquarters of West Kameng, located at an elevation of 8500 feet above sea level. With its pleasant environment, apple orchards, creative people, snow-capped Himalayan peaks, and Buddhist Gompas, it attracts a large number of travellers. Check into your hotel upon arrival. The remainder of the day is free. Overnight at the Bomdila hotel. (B)

Day 8: Bomdila – Tezpur (about 160 kilometres / three hours and forty minutes)

After breakfast, depart for Tezpur. Tezpur is a picturesque town with some nicely managed parks, gorgeous lakes, and breathtaking vistas of the great Brahmaputra River as it laps the town's edge. When you arrive, check into your hotel. The remainder of the day is free. Overnight in a Tezpur hotel. (B)

Day 9: Depart Tezpur for Guwahati (about 190 kilometres/5 hours and 30 minutes).

This morning, you will be taken to Guwahati airport / railway station in order to catch a flight or train return to your home or next destination. (B)
